The Voice is back! And it was well worth the wait. Oh how I missed the witty banter between these four. And I might have to agree with Cee Lo that some of the banter between Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera is sexual tension. Which is good. For us, the viewing audience. Everyone knows sexual tension makes for great television. And witty banter.

You know who I wasn’t happy to see return to The Voice? That tool Carson Daly. Can’t NBC hire someone with a little more personality and charm?

My heart just breaks when no one turns around. I felt so bad for Daniel Rosa. However, he wasn’t that talented. Them the breaks, kid.  I loved Jesse Campbell and Juliet Simms.  Cee Lo liked Juliet too. I thought his overt flirting (“You turn me on.”) might turn her off, but she decided to go with him. Probably a wise decision since Cee Lo is pretty good with the rocker chicks. And perhaps the arguing between Christina and Adam turned her off.

Everyone loved Jesse. And of course his sob story doesn’t hurt either. Who doesn’t want to turn a man who was left by his wife because he’s trying to make it in the music biz into a star?! They were all fighting over him and it was touch and go there for awhile. What with Cee Lo calling him “brother”, Xtina accusing Cee Lo of playing up the fact that they are the same color and then Cee Lo letting her know, “We’re all the same color when the lights are out, Christina.” Ha! True, true. I thought for sure that would get Jesse to go with Cee Lo. But he chose Christina because she said she’d fight for him.

What about Mousketeer Tony Lucca? Christina didn’t even recognize him until he walked off the stage. Then she fed him some line of crap about Britney having a crush on  him back in the day. They all turned around for Tony and he decided to go with Adam. Probably because Xtina didn’t know who the hell he was.

Chris Mann had an amazing voice, in my opinion! I think he blew them all away. Blake’s attempt at a joke was pretty lame. Chris sang in Italian and Blake said he thought he was talented but couldn’t understand a word he was saying. Um, yeah. Lame. Chris decided to go with Christina.

Looking forward to tonight’s show.

Here’s what I’m looking forward to hunkering down (with a martini and carrot sticks) and watching this winter.

The Voice I am not a fan of American Idol or any of those talent shows. (Well, I will watch Dancing with the Stars, but that’s just to see the train wrecks they call “stars.”)  I got sucked into The Voice right from the start last summer and have been awaiting its return. I really like the banter between the judges and the array of talent. So many different styles and all so gifted!

The Walking Dead I love this show. And the zombies are almost beside the point. It’s a great program with good stories and characters you care about.  I can’t wait to see how Lori is going to run from zombies when she’s 8 months pregnant. And what kind of crap Shane’s going to pull next. Good stuff.

Bethenny Ever After Bethenny is nuts. Absolutely nuts. But she’s real. And she owns her shit. I like watching her be a neurotic mess, mistreat her in-laws and drive her long-suffering husband crazy. Not that there is anything there at all that I can relate to. It’s just fun  to watch. And rip her apart.

Real Housewives of Orange County While I can honestly say I have not missed watching the Real Housewives serials, I am looking forward to watching the new season of the OC. It’s the original show and I am holding out hope (lord knows why) that these ladies won’t let me down with the sort of immature and degrading behavior some of the other Housewives exhibit (I’m looking at you RHNYC & NJ).

Mad Men For the love of god, AMC bring this back already!! We’ve waited long enough. I’m in such need for smart writing and complex characters. And of course the snazzy set design of the 1960′s.

SPOILER ALERT: Stop reading now if you haven’t seen this week’s episode!

O.M.G. y’all!!!! Is absolutely everybody dead now or what?! And what’s going to happen if they keep killing them all off? Will we see a new family move in next season? (The show was just nominated for a Golden Globe so I can’t imagine it’ll be canceled).

So poor, sweet Violet finally finds out exactly what sort of monster she’s in love with. Her boyfriend raped her mother and knocked her up. That’s rough.  She was willing to forgive him shooting up his high school, but this is just too much.  And what’s the deal with Tate? Is he really that remorseful of his past? Does he truly not remember shooting up his high school and killing the couple who lived in the house before Violet moved in? Or is he just pretending? (Or trying to block out shit like we all do).

Ben is finally beginning to understand exactly what is going on in that house. Not only did he find out Violet is dead, but he let a ghost obstetrician and nurse deliver his wife’s babies. Do you think that first one was really stillborn? And if it was never alive will it be a ghost or no? (I have so many questions).

Also, have you noticed that it seems like the dead in Murder House are trapped for all eternity with their scorned lover? Hayden; the gay couple; Violet & Tate; Nora and her freaky, Dr. Mengele-type husband. At least Vivien and Violet will be together.

So now that Vivien is dead and the surviving baby isn’t Ben’s (and is most likely some sort of demon baby), will Ben leave the house and let Constance raise the devil spawn? She did such a good job with her own children.

I must say I was really disappointed there was no naked Ben or any girl-on-girl action from the hot maid and one of Ben’s dead patients. I’ll get over it. That’s what reruns are for.

I just can’t wait to see what is going to happen! Let me know your thoughts and guesses for what’s to come.

Lord, I need an update.  So it’s a damn good thing that AMC will be rerunning every episode Sunday mornings until the premiere. So I’ve got that going for me.

I miss Don’s philandering, womanizing ways. I miss Sally mixing martinis and trying to survive her parents. I miss Roger’s one-liners and Joan’s quips. OK and her curves. She’s hot. I miss confused, ambitious Peggy. I even miss that annoyance, Pete. I miss the set design! The clothes. The coolness.

When season 5 premieres, I hope it will prove to be worth the wait.

Dudes, are you watching American Horror Story? It’s so freaking good!! It rocks!  Have I mentioned that I have a love of all things horror and thriller in the movie genre? Well, I do. Love me some scary movies! Everything from Rear Window to

Love me some scary movies! Everything from Rear Window to Halloween to Dead Ringers! Oh and Saw! And everything in between. If there is a scary movie, I’ve seen it. A little reluctantly if it’s PG 13. Everyone knows nothing really good happens unless it’s rated R.

I digress. Please watch American Horror Story for the following reasons:

1.  Jessica Lange. O.M.G. y’all. AMAZING. Of course you already know she’s a great actress. But the creep level is not to be believed. Frankly, I didn’t know she had it in her.

2.  Dylan McDermott. Naked. A lot. And holy shit, what a body! He’s way better looking now than he was 20 years ago in Steel Magnolias. How is that possible? Maybe he sold his soul to the devil. Beyond his bare ass, he plays his role as the cheating spouse who is trying to make good while shrinking the heads of the local teenage freaks very well.

3.  A haunted house! Where not one, but at least two murders took place! And it’s starting to look like there may have been a few in between. We know about the most recent and the one that started it all in the late ’60′s. That flashback last week was so freaking good! It had The Strangers written all over it.

4. Did I mention it’s totally dark and creepy? Two of my favorite qualities in a movie or television series. And I don’t just mean the subject matter. The actual filming is dark and creepy. I’m no film maker. I have no idea what you call that or whatever. But it’s cool.

5. Ghosts! Everywhere! The housekeeper is totally a ghost! To the unsuspecting wife, she looks like an old lady, but to the horny, philandering husband she looks like a hot young thing in a super short French maid’s uniform with her garters hanging out.  And now I’m beginning to think his freaky male patient who is hot for his teenage daughter (natch) is a ghost too! That of Jessica Lange’s son.

6. Masturbation. On TV, y’all! Dylan catches the above mentioned hot housekeeper diddling herself and can’t help but pleasure himself. While standing stark naked in the window. In broad daylight. It’s what we do, right? Wait. What?

I’ve always had a thing for Ryan, but something about this movie has moved him up on my list. You know The List, right?  The list of the 5 celebrities your spouse has to give you a pass to have sex with because #1 there is absolutely no way in hell you’d ever find yourself in a situation where you would have the slightest possibility of actually having any sort of sex with this person, and #2 they are way too hot for your spouse to deny you the opportunity to fuck them.

I know this is going to come as  a shock to some of you, and frankly I’ve shocked myself a bit with this move, but I’m giving up the entire Real Housewives franchise. I know. I know. I love the entire train wreck and all the cities (OK, I don’t like Atlanta and didn’t make it past season 1. Nor was I sad to see DC get the axe), and I must to be the biggest Andy Cohen fan ever. But I just can’t take it any more. It’s toxic.

You know how you’ll have a friend in your life? And that person has meant a lot to you. You’ve shard a lot of really great times and she’s always been there for you. Then she starts to get selfish or mean or just not good for you. Maybe brings out the worst in you or you just feel depleted instead of filled up after a couple hours with her? Well, that’s how the Real Housewives are making me feel. They’re all just mean, hateful, immature bitches. And I’ve got to cut them out of my life.

It was those damn New York bitches that did me in. I was starting to feel like the shows were a bit unhealthy and then those cunts just did me in. They are ALL so mean and they can’t see  themselves at all! One drones on about how nice she is while simultaneously berating another for turning red when she’s upset. And who wants to witness two 54 year old women shout “loser” at each other? Not me. Not any more.

Aside from making me feel dirty (and not in the good way), I think they’re making me stupid, too. I mean, let’s face it – I don’t have a job (outside the home. I don’t want fellow stay at home moms rollin up on me for that comment), and my brain is not challenged on a regular (or any) basis. I can’t be filling my mind with this crap. Not that I’m going to start reading the classics and going to the ballet or anything. Let’s not get nuts. But I am going to stop tuning into this crap. At least for awhile. I may start jonesing for this shit in a few months. But for now, I’m detoxing.

My good (and extremely generous friend), Molly (be sure to check out her website. She’s doing good things!) sent me two bottles of Ramona Singer’s Pinot Grigio! How awesome is that? I mean Ramona’s Pinot, people! If you watch The Real Houswives of New York, and surely you do, you know this woman is obsessed with her freaking wine! To the point of taking it to every function with her, demanding it upon her arrival at birthday parties, and drinking the case she was supposed to auction off for charity at said charity event. Oops. Sounds like she may have a problem, as my dad would say. And if you know me at all, you know I’m obsessed with all things Real Housewives, be it New York, Orange County, Beverly Hills, well you get the idea.

I’ve been extremely curious about this wine, but wasn’t about to purchase it. It’s just one of those things I wouldn’t buy for myself.  Seeing as I am now on the $6 bottle of wine or under budget. So clearly my not buying it for myself had nothing to do with any sort of wine snobbery. Although, I was a bit apprehensive about how it would taste. Because I’m not a big fan of Bethenny Frankel‘s Skinnygirl margaritas. They’re OK, but I can’t figure out how she managed to sell the swill for $100 million! Also, I wouldn’t know where to get a bottle. I don’t think Safeway has it yet.

Anyway, back to the wine . . . it’s damn good! Honestly. Delish. It’s crisp and fruity. I think maybe some pear and definitely a bit of lemon.  Also, I think there may have been some sort of aphrodisiac in there as well. And that’s all I’m going to say about that. Big Daddy and I shared a bottle the evening it arrived and we both enjoyed it immensely.

I suggest you find yourself a bottle (mine came from The Wine Buyer dot com via Molly) or two immediately. And drink it while watching RHONY with your besties or your hubs!  Cheers!
