So I got the kids out the door this morning (on time, thank you very much. With their hair and teeth brushed and their bellies full of protein and carbs), and immediately thought, “Yay! It’s Friday!!”

Moments later I realized my mistake. So that’s the sort of week it’s been for me. You?

Aside from the week dragging and being filled with annoyances, it’s been beautiful. Fall is in full swing and I am LOVING it.

I know I am in the minority on this, but the sun gets to me. I find it oppressive after a while. Of course I find the grey skies and rain bleak after a while too. I’ve decided I have constant Seasonal Affective Disorder. Which, in a way is good, because I’m always looking forward to the next season and enjoying them all. Until I don’t.

We’ve also been getting some house stuff finished this week. The in-laws are coming next week!! (and more are coming next month!). So we’ve been painting and hanging things on the walls and generally trying to make the house look like we moved in two years ago and not two weeks ago.

And? We watched season 4 of Breaking Bad. I love this show. To all the friends who have been telling me to watch it: You were so right!!

And? It’s been great without cable! The girls are not fighting me about doing their homework. I no longer have to pull them away from the TV or get in arguments about how much TV they can watch. They just watch less but don’t complain because they are watching only what they really want to see and aren’t missing all that filler crap. Same goes for me.  And Jemima has discovered a new love for Garfield.

So see? While it’s been a long week full of dumb tasks for me and other annoyances, it’s been pretty great. Not sure what my point is. Other than it’s not Friday, but we’re close and life is not all bad. Just maybe 20%.

Have a nice day!

  1. This is always happening to me! I get the days wrong constantly. It could be October 20th and you might hear me ask, “Is it October already? I thought it was September 12th.” Honestly, I have no idea how I have lived this long. Good job on the house stuff and the cable! Also? Fall is my favorite too.

Melisa, I credit loved ones and friends for getting me this far in life. Not only do I not know what day it is, I have no sense of direction and rarely no where the hell I am.

  3. And this is why I knew we were meant to be friends.
