Lunch for Two
As I mentioned, it’s been a bit of an adjustment to fall and all that entails around these parts. (And by these parts, I mean our house).
As a result, I don’t have a lot of energy. I’ve really been dragging my ass, as my mom would say. And completely unmotivated to do much more than what must be done.
Big Daddy has recently worked a little OT so his boss told him to take a comp day. So he took Wednesday off. And I spent the first half of his off day being completely selfish.
I slept in and he got the girls up for school, made them breakfast, packed their lunches and then entertained Jemima. He also painted the ceiling in our family room. The man’s a super star. Did I mention this was his day off for having to work late and over the weekend?
Well, around noon when he was on his way out the door to take Jemima to school he suggested I go with him and then we could have lunch together. Well, hell yeah! That got my ass in gear.
Because the weather has been so completely ideal, we decided to eat outside and enjoy this gorgeous view:
And what’s a view like this without a couple margarita’s to enjoy it with?
These margaritas are so good and it was very hard to stop at one. But we did. And in order to soak up the tequila, we had a little food.
Do you have any idea how good it is for the soul (and the marriage) to have lunch with your husband without any kids around? You probably do.
After lunch, we did a little thrift-shopping. I got a couple mirrors to hang in our dining room and a set of 8 coffee mugs! Mugs that aren’t chipped, stained or missing handles. Woohoo.
When’s the last time you were able to play a little mid-week hooky with your spouse? What did you do?

Oh YUM your Loft food looks delish! The margaritas look positively dreadful, though. Ahem.
I feel really fortunate that even though the hubs and I both work full-time, we work from home so we can do lunches on occasion. Or go for a run. Or a barely-walk if you’re running next to me.

You are very fortunate! Big Daddy used to work from home and it was sort of a disaster for us. But one day a month would be nice
Steve and I – once but said we would do it regularly – got a massage followed by a pool side lunch in the middle of the day at a local resort. It was awesome! And a good tip because the hotels around here have special local/mid week rates at their spas.
Yay for you!! I love days like that! Lunch dates seem to be the only ones my hubby and I get. I’ll take it. We usually hit up the wineries. Glad you enjoyed!!
