Double Date Night last night! So fun. Such a treat these days to go out sans kids and at night, no less. Our beloved babysitter spent the summer traveling and then went off to college. The nerve!

We went to Seattle with another couple (really fun friends that we like a lot!) and saw a screening of J.J. Abrams new series, Revolution. OMG, you guys! It’s SO GOOD!!

Basically, all the power goes out one night. Everything, even car batteries (which makes no sense, but it’s make believe, people, so I’m going with it). There is one guy, Ben, who seems to know it’s going to happen and why but the audience doesn’t know.  All we know is that he managed to download a bunch of super important stuff onto his USB drive seconds before the world went dark.

Then it’s 15 years later and naturally everything’s completely jacked-up. No electricity, no technology or cars. Apparently there are a bunch of communal neighborhoods where people have some serious gardens and are just trying to survive. Ben’s there with his now 19 year old son and 22 year old daughter. But the wife has died.

Suddenly some bad ass dudes show up and apparently they’re some sort of militia. They want Ben and Ben’s brother, Miles. We don’t know why (but it’s not hard to surmise it probably has something to do with that USB drive that Ben handed over to his geek neighbor as soon as he saw the bad ass dudes roll up on their horses).

This is when shit really gets good and all I’m going to say is, set your DVR’s and your TiVo’s people! You don’t want to miss this. There is ass kicking and intrigue. The writing is great – you will love the one-liners – and a whole lot of mystery. I, for one, cannot wait to see what is going to happen!
