On August 14, 2003 I had my first baby. My life was changed in ways I never imagined. I didn’t know I could love someone so much. Or worry about someone so much. Or that someone, particularly someone so tiny, could frustrate me that much. I didn’t know I was that strong. Or that I knew so much. This first girl has taught me a lot. About myself. About the world and my place in it and that I can survive on very little sleep.

And just like that, she’s nine . . .

On August 14, 2008 I had my 3rd and last baby. My sweet Jemima. The one who completed our Goddess Trilogy. The one who has taught us all how to laugh and have fun. She’s taught us to love and be kind to each other. No one wants to hurt the baby’s feelings. No one wants to see the baby upset. OK, so we spoil her with love and affection. But aren’t you supposed to do that with the baby of the family?

I can’t believe you are 4, Jemima! Where do the years go? I wish you lots of adventures, happiness and that you learn to compromise and give in once in awhile.  Maybe learn to share the spotlight.  You’ll always be a star.
