Fun with Science
On occasion Big Daddy will find fun family things for us to do (OK, often. He often finds fun things for our family to do). Last weekend he took us to the Science Expo in Seattle.
It was a ton of fun and it was FREE y’all! I like free because then I don’t care so much when the kids whine that it was boring. Also? That means there is more in the budget for the kids-free fun. But this time they did not say they were bored or that it was lame.
They were actually happy from the time we got off the ferry. Riding the bus and then the monorail was a fun adventure. I must admit, I think the monorail is pretty cool, too.
The Expo was at the Seattle Center. There were several booths and interactive stations set up all over the grounds. There was even an entire section devoted to women in science, which I thought was pretty cool.
The girls made boomarangs (that actually worked!), they made and launched rockets, did some color experiments, walked thru an inflatable tunnel that was actually a replica of your large intestine! As well as a bunch of other stuff I don’t even remember. They got free t-shirts and pencils and some other swag.
And of course, because they are maniacs, they got wet in the fountain.
Good thing they had those new t-shirts to change into.

PRICELESS line. “I like free because then I don’t care so much when the kids whine that it was boring.” Free is one of my favorite words for many reasons, but that is at the top of the list. Thanks for keepin it so real.
