What Are You Watching?
I think that I am completely over reality television. And no, I can’t believe I just wrote that. I used to watch them all. I mean all of them. The crap on MTV; all the Real Housewives; Project Runway; Millionaire Matchmaker; Big Brother, on and on and on.
The first to go from my viewing was all the MTV garbage and, I am happy to say, I have not seen one episode of Jersey Shore. Then the others like Project Runway and Millionaire Matchmaker, just sort of dropped off. I swore off the Real Housewives early last summer and have not missed them. I decided to give OC a try and I just can’t do it.
What’s gotten into me? I want quality programming! Good shows with intriguing story lines. Characters I actually care about and root for. I’m not interested in seeing people flip tables and throw wine in their friend’s face (any more). I think The Voice is the only reality show I’ll be watching. Well, that and Big Brother. I haven’t given up on that one yet. Oh! And Who Do You Think You Are? Do you watch that? I find that fascinating. I wish I could hire someone to trace my family history. I know absolutely nothing about either side of my family beyond my parents! But, that’s a whole other story.
I’m talking about TV a lot recently, aren’t I? Hmmm. Must be all those good shows I’m watching.
Here are the shows I think everyone should be watching:
Mad Men
The Walking Dead
Downton Abbey
Modern Family
Parenthood
The Voice
The Good Wife
Ringer
Revenge
Tell me, what are your favorite shows? And are you still watching reality TV?

The Big Bang Theory (laugh out loud funny!)
19 and Counting (The Duggars) – a REAL, no drama reality show.
I need to try The Big Bang Theory. People love that.
i’m sure it was just an oversight on your list…30 ROCK!
wendy recently posted..The Fake Weight
I haven’t watched 30 Rock yet! I’ve got to add that to my list.
Breaking bad and Homeland
Those two are on my list!
No, remember how mch we loved the real housewives franchise! So boring now!
Yes, Chris. Makes me sad! It’s all gone to hell.
So very many shows… The Big Bang Theory, Once Upon a Time, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Survivor, Big Brother, America’s Got Talent, and yes, Jersey Shore… but I say that’s the show I watch because it’s like looking a wreck as you pass it. I just can’t turn away. It’s hard to believe that adults (I’m using that term VERY loosely) act like that. lol I miss LOST. I loved that show.
I miss Lost too! Are you watching Alcatraz? I was hoping it would be as good as Lost, but I’m not that into it
I’m not. I had high hopes for Terra Nova, but it didn’t really catch my interest. I tried Revenge but couldn’t really get into that one either. I may need to try that one again though. Just saw a preview for The Missing last night and I think I’ll see if I like that one and hopefully I’ll get a chance to see the first episode (DVR’d) of GCB later today. Wow, I watch WAY too much tv!
Me too! Way too much TV. It seems for every show I drop, I add another.
I’m a crime junkie, so I watch CSI and CSI, New York(Miami = ugh). I also like Body of Proof. I am also watching The Vampire Diaries and Once Upon a Time. I have other shows I watch, but not consistently. I need to start this last season of The Walking Dead, finish Homeland, and start Game of Thrones(I’ve watched ep 1 twice because the first time I had wine and was thinking “that did NOT just happen?”). I can’t think of the others. The only reality I still watch is Billy the Exterminator with my son. He loves it, and I have to admit that the guy is a real character!
It’s like I don’t even know you anymore… what will we talk about when I come to bainbridge??We don’t have any crossover shows!
Okay – I want to get on board with all these great series out there and will do them via net flix at some point. I bet that when I do I will stop watching these crap ones I watch now.
right now I watch
Whitney (VVVV Funny I think!)
How I met your mother
And all my reality shows. Never liked Millioniare matchmaker or big brother or survivor or bachelor but I love:
Real Housewives of anything
WWHL – Andy is my boy
JERSEY SHORE IS AWESOME!! Did you hear snookie is preggers!? And by the wrong guy in my opinion but you don’t care
Really that is it. Not too much. But keeping up with all of the different real housewives is enought to keep me busy.
Oh and for some reason that I don’t understand at all I watch Nancy Grace. And I can’t usually watch anything sad or stressful but I watch her. Steve hates it.
XXOO
I love How I Met Your Mother. But this year hasn’t been as good as past seasons. I’m sure we’ll have other things to discuss besides TV

I love the Amazing Race, Survior, Project Rumway and Top Chef for reality TV.
For scripted shows, Greys, Revenge, Parenthood, Alcatraz, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Smash and I am trying out GCB.
Sarah recently posted..My Rubbish
I was so into all those reality shows, Sarah (except Top Chef) and then I just got burnt out. I’m enjoying Smash. I want to like Alcatraz, but I’m just not hooked. Yet
I don’t watch the TV anymore. I’m buying DVDs and going to cinema (when there is something good…)

Z, you’re smart! I keep saying I’m going to cancel cable but I just can’t do it.
I also like Revenge and the Good Wife. I have the first 3 seasons of Mad Men on DVD…unopened. So I need to try that and Downtown Abbey. We also like How I Met Your Mother, Weeds, Nurse Jackie and So You Think You Can Dance. Heard Touch was amazing and looking forward to replay of premiere tomorrow.

Tricia, Please, Please, Please! I beg you! Try Mad Men. It’s so awesome! The story lines, the acting, the set decoration, the writing, the attention to detail.
Thanks for stopping by!

My husband and I always watch Big Brother every summer! I’ve been watching it since season 1 and still lived at home! LOL In fact, I think it began my senior year of high school in 2000! I married hubby in 2006 and he’s been watching it with me since then! Love it!!
Celeste, I have been watching since the first season, too. I look forward to BB all year! Even my kids know to leave me alone when it’s on.
