The Good Life
Everyone should live at a hotel. Seriously. Especially people with children. This past week at Paradise Point in San Diego was the happiest of my entire life. I’m not kidding. First of all our bungalow was right on beautiful San Diego Bay and it was HUGE! Bigger and nicer than my first 3 apartments. The big girls slept on the pull out couch in the ample living room. Jemima was in a pack-n-play in one of the spacious vanity areas and Big Daddy and I had the master bedroom. With a king size bed! Heaven. We didn’t know the other one was in the bed. After years of sharing a queen size bed with two girls for some part of the night, this my friends, was bliss.
Second? The girls and I would leave the bungalow with towels on the floor, beds unmade and the pull out couch still out. We’d come back and beds would be made, floors swept and fresh towels would be hanging. Ahhh, the joys of housekeeping services. And where were we off to while the disaster that was our bungalow was being cleaned? Poolside of course. And what a pool. Beach entry and sand nearby!! Jemima sat right at the entry and played with water and sand toys. The big girls swam and played in the pool for hours. Each day they would make new friends and play elaborate mermaid games. Where was I? On my lounge slamming Mai Tais. See? Seriously, everyone should live at a hotel.
I couldn’t believe how easy it was for me to deal with my 3 lovelies while poor Big Daddy toiled away at the office. They were so good!! And didn’t even try to kill each other. They were too happy playing and swimming – their favorite thing to do and something we haven’t done in months. Our San Diego friends stopped by the hotel everyday to play in the sun and water with us.
We were all pretty sad to pack up and leave the luxury of laze and beauty of the resort. But we moved to our bff”s gorgeous house in Point Loma where we have our own guest house. And? Amazing views of the bay, North Island and San Diego.
