Quality Time

Weekend mornings are pretty sweet around here.  There aren’t alarms blaring at 6am for the Daddy or 6:45am for the biggest girl. We are all snuggled down in our beds, blissfully sleeping at that hour.

About 7:30am the big girls will wake up and climb into bed with us.  We’ll all cuddle up and settle in to sleep another half hour or 45 minutes until the littlest girl wakes.  We listen to her coo and babble and once she gets going with the “Mama! Mama! Mama!! Daaadeeee!” Daddy rescues her from her crib and brings her into our bed.

Oh my how the girlie loves this!! Her whole face lights up when she sees me and her sissies in bed waiting for her.  She wiggles and squirms in Big Daddy’s arms until he puts her on the bed.  Sure she loves me and her daddy, but it’s the big sisters that really get her going.  She pounces on them and quickly plants slobbery kisses on their faces and burrows herself right in the middle of them.

It’s so cute to watch Jemima pull the covers up to her chin and beam at her sisters. And watch her sisters smile at her and kiss her puffy little cheeks. Big Daddy and I will make googlie eyes at each other and look down at them with pure love.  Then Nita starts whining that Jemima isn’t looking at her and Zeta starts yelling at Nita to shut up and Jemima starts smacking both of them.  Then they’re all crying and yelling and Big Daddy is yelling for them to settle down and I’m yelling at him to get them out so I can rest!

Then they all leave me in peace. I fire up my laptop, grab a book off my nightstand, make sure the on-going knitting project is close at hand and wait for Big Daddy to bring me my coffee.
